LOS ANGELES: GRB Entertainment has hired Danielle Abrams, formerly of Irwin Entertainment, as the company’s VP of content development.

In her new role, Abrams will work under Erin Cristall, GRB’s executive VP of development, who joined the company earlier this year. Abrams will collaborate with Cristall on developing programming across all genres of unscripted programming, including docuseries, lifestyle, reality and competition shows.

Abrams previously served as director of development at Irwin Entertainment, where she oversaw live specials for NBC, including New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly and The Red Nose Day Special. Earlier in her career, she was director of development at Asylum Entertainment, where she worked on various shows for such channels as Discovery, MTV, HISTORY, Oxygen and WE tv, to name a few.

Cristall, who joined GRB in March 2016, previously served as senior VP of development at Bunim/Murray Productions and, before that, director of alternative programming at New Line Television. She remarked: “With buyers looking for noisy programming that can resonate and break through, Danielle’s robust background, coupled with her taste and instinct for disruptive content, make her a great asset to the GRB team, which is growing by the day. We’re excited to welcome Danielle to GRB at such an exciting time for our company—and for our industry.”
