C4 Goes for Another Season of The Island with Bear Grylls

Channel 4 has commissioned Shine TV to produce a fifth season of the survival series The Island with Bear Grylls.

The Island with Bear Grylls is set to return to Channel 4 this year. In the six-episode fifth season, two separate groups of people will be abandoned at opposite ends of a remote, uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. One group of eight castaways will be wealthy professionals living off an average income of £100,000 a year, while the second group of eight will consist of individuals who earn below the U.K. national average wage. Neither group will know that the other is on the island at first, but when they find each other, will they work together to survive?

Executive producers on The Island with Bear Grylls are Tom William, Grylls and Delbert Shoopman. The series is produced by Shine TV, which is part of Endemol Shine Group, and Bear Grylls Ventures.
