Video Interview: Telenovela Star Aracely Arámbula

NEW YORK: In this video interview, which is available with subtitles in English, Portuguese and Mandarin, Aracely Arámbula talks about her work on La Patrona, the global appeal of telenovelas, and what viewers can expect from Telemundo's new Les Miserables adaptation.

 

Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Arámbula started on her road to fame by participating in beauty pageants. She began acting in the mid-'90s with minor roles in telenovelas such as Prisoner of Love and Acapulco, Body and Soul, before landing a spot on Televisa's Passion Cañaveral. Her first starring role was in the teen telenovela Elusive Dreams, which aired on Televisa and on Univision.

Arámbula went on to feature in numerous novelas, getting the chance to play both the protagonist and antagonist, and also pursued a music career. In 2013, she got the chance to combine her love of music and acting with La Patrona. Arámbula not only stars in the hit Telemundo novela, she also recorded two songs for the show, including its theme song. The actress is now set to lead the cast of a new Telemundo telenovela based on Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. The novela will be the first Spanish-language adaption of the classic work.
