Telenovela Emerald Heart Debuts in Ecuador

MIAMI: Ecuador's TC Televisión has picked up the classic telenovela Emerald Heart from Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD).

The program, which is produced by Venevision, premiered yesterday. The telenovela stars former Miss Venezuela Irene Esser as Beatriz Elena Beltran, a young ecologist committed to protecting the environment. She embarks on a crusade to make wealthy industrialist César Augusto Salvatierra (Jean Carlo Simancas) stop cutting trees and process the waste dumped into the river of Valle Bonito, the town where the story takes place. Driven by this mission, she will be caught in a fight with the tycoon, unaware that he is her biological father.

Luis Gerónimo Abreu stars as Juan Andrés Montalvo, an attorney hired to find Salvatierra’s fifth heir. Other cast members include Flavia Gleske, Cristóbal Lander, Paula Woyzechowsky, Sheryl Rubio, Daniel Martinez Campos, Myriam Abreu, José Ramón Barreto and Sindy Lazo, among many others.
