LONDON: Scripps Networks Interactive has secured carriage for Travel Channel and Fine Living with Africa’s Kwesé TV.

Econet Media’s multimedia platform added both channels to its pay-TV lineup on January 30. Travel Channel and Fine Living are now available in Ghana, Zambia and Rwanda and will be rolled out across the rest of the African continent. Program offerings include the latest seasons of Durban Beach Rescue, Ultimate Braai Master and House Hunters Africa.

“Africa has become an increasingly important market given its size and the potential for expansion within the pay-TV industry,” said Phillip Luff, the managing director for the U.K. and EMEA at Scripps Networks Interactive. “There is an appetite for quality lifestyle content, as proven by the success of our portfolio already in the market. Partnering with Kwesé allows us to invite new audiences from across the region to enjoy our world-class programming.”

“Kwesé’s commitment to top-quality premium content drives the way we go about acquiring channels and programming,” said Joseph Hundah, the president and CEO of Econet Media. “This partnership allows us to extend our offering with content that is globally trusted and popular.”
