DUBAI: Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has signed three new distribution deals in the Middle East, inking agreements with broadcasters in Egypt, Qatar and Dubai.

Feature films from the Sony Pictures library, spanning a variety of genres, are headed to a trio of networks in the region, via a set of multi-year deals scored by SPT’s recently opened distribution office in Dubai. SPT signed its first content distribution pacts with Al Rayyan in Qatar and the Egyptian-based television network Rotana. A new agreement was secured with national broadcaster Dubai Media Incorporated, which will air a select of films on Dubai One.

Ziad Yaghi, the executive director of distribution for the Middle East at SPT, said: “As a committed participant on a pan-regional level, SPT is now also establishing new relationships at a national level as the sector expands. With many thousands of feature films and television series, the SPT library is well placed to meet growing Middle East demand.”
