As it looks to ramp up its business in the Middle East and Africa, iflix is partnering with Vodafone in Egypt and setting up a new regional hub in Cairo.

Vodafone subscribers can access the iflix service for EGP 1 ($0.06) a day with the new partnership. Meanwhile, tapping into Egypt’s creative content prowess—more than 75 percent of Arab-language films, shorts and feature-length, originate in Egypt, according to iflix—a new hub is being established in Cairo. From this new regional headquarters, bringing together regional marketing, content and business development teams, iflix is looking to expand its business in Egypt, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

John Saad, iflix’s MENA CEO, commented, “Today is an important milestone for iflix and our business in MENA. Egypt is the nerve center of culture and creativity in the region. We are thrilled to set up our new regional head office here and partner with Vodafone Egypt, the country’s leading telecommunication service providers to make our service available to tens of millions of customers across the country.”
