Warner Bros. Titles Set for Brazil’s Globo

BURBANK: Warner Bros. International Television Distribution has signed a multiyear free-TV deal with Brazil’s Globo, one that will see series such as Gotham heading to the channel.

The pact covers movies from Warner Bros. Pictures, among them American Sniper, Mad Max: Fury Road and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Globo also scores Warner Bros. Television series such as The Flash and Supergirl.

“We are very pleased to have struck this deal with Globo,” said Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, the president of Warner Bros. International Television. “Brazil is an important market and we are glad that viewers will have access to some of our world-class feature films and television series.”

“This deal with Warner will bring us more variety and good films and series for our slots on Globo, reinforcing our commitment to free-to-air TV in Brazil,” added Carlos Henrique Schroder, CEO of Globo. “Movie fans, especially, will profit from this deal because we will have the world’s best blockbusters. Every day, we communicate with 96 million people [who] get attached and have fun with movies and series that we exhibit with no cost to the audience.”
