Univision to Offer English Captioning for Novelas

MIAMI: Starting January 30, all of the prime-time novelas on Univision Network will be offered with the option of English-language closed captioning.

Monday through Friday, the English-language closed captioning will be available for the hit Televisa novelas A Fortunate Family, The Talisman and The One That Couldn’t Love. The offering officially begins on January 30 at 8 p.m. with the premiere of the newest novela from Univision Studios and Venevision, The Talisman.

 

“The continued success of the telenovela genre speaks to its broad appeal that crosses culture and language, which is why, as part of our commitment to connect audiences to our culture, we are delivering our novela block with close captioning in English,” said Cesar Conde, the president of Univision Networks.
