As part of its restructuring plan, TV Azteca has appointed Alberto Ciurana, a former Televisa exec, as head of television and content distribution.

In his new position, Ciurana will lead programming, operations and production for Azteca’s networks. He will work directly under CEO Benjamín Salinas. He most recently served as president and CEO of DT Consulting. Earlier in his career, he was president of programming and content at Univision Networks, and VP of Televisa for 15 years.

Mauricio Majul Gabriel and Rodrigo Fernández Capdevielle, directors of Azteca Trece and Azteca 7, will take on new duties within Grupo Salinas.

Salinas commented: “The achievements made in these two years are only the beginning. Looking ahead, we take the next step of evolution. We will continue to grow and capitalize with social and technological changes, as well as the revaluation of broadcast television as the principal means of mass communication and marketing.”
