Of all the new programs that debuted across Latin America last month, Por la máscara on Space in Argentina stirred up the most social media buzz, according to The WIT.

The comedic drama, set in the universe of lucha libre Mexican wrestling, saw some 6,000 comments on Facebook and Twitter surrounding its debut.

The telenovela Loquito por ti, set in Medellín in the 1960s, premiered on Caracol in Colombia to about 5,000 tweets, ranking second on the list of the most talked-about series on social media last month.

Also drumming up about 5,000 comments, Os Melhores Anos das Nossas Vidas premiered on TV Globo in Brazil. The local adaptation of the format The Best Years of Our Lives pits two generations against each other in a music-driven entertainment show.

Clube da Anittinha on Gloob in Brazil saw around 4,000 tweets. The animated youth series follows Anittinha, a child version of the Brazilian singer Anitta.

Isla Paraíso on Mega in Chile had around 4,000 tweets as well. The romantic comedy telenovela features sisters Carolina and Celeste—Carolina is fleeing after being involved in a large fraud imagined by her husband and seeks the help of Celeste in the convent where she lives.

Univision in the U.S. premiered the fantasy telenovela Amar a muerte, in which a media mogul is assassinated on his wedding day at the same time a hitman in the U.S. is executed in the electric chair. Around 3,000 social media comments accompanied the debut.

Un extraño enemigo, a Mexican political thriller based on real facts, dropped on Amazon Prime Video. There were some 3,000 tweets about the series, which charts the rise to power of Comandante Barrientos in the 1960s, against the backdrop of student uprisings and social struggles in Mexico.

The premiere of La rueda de la suerte on Canal 13 in Chile saw some 2,000 Facebook and Twitter comments. It is a new local adaptation of the classic game show Wheel of Fortune, which was originally adapted on Canal 13 in 1978-79.

Telefe in Argentina debuted Morir de amor, a thriller featuring a heartbroken doctor who just lost his wife. It garnered around 1,000 tweets in its premiere episode.

There were also around 1,000 tweets surrounding the premiere of Sin miedo a la verdad on Las Estrellas in Mexico. The thriller centers on a hero of modern times who leads a double life and acts online under the avatar “Gus” to protect the victims of all sorts of injustices thanks to his hacker talent.

Coming in at number 10 is Más lejos, más cerca, a local adaptation of the factual format Hello Goodbye. The show, which focuses on the emotional reunions and farewells at the arrivals and departures lounges at the Bogotá airport, saw some 1,000 comments with its debut on Canal RCN in Colombia.
