LOS ANGELES: Lionsgate-TISA Television International has been named as the exclusive representative for at least 20 new theatrical titles from New Films International for the Latin American market.

The deal gives Lionsgate-TISA, a recently formed joint venture between Lionsgate and Maryann Pasante’s Television Internacional Sur America, the exclusive TV rights across all platforms for a package of New Films International movies to be sold in Latin America. This includes films such as 27 Club, A Novel Romance, Age of Kali, Flying Lessons, Satin, Sister’s Keeper and more.

Peter Iacono, the managing director of Lionsgate Television International, said, “The timing of this new agreement neatly coincides with the growing importance of the Latin American television market. Combining the quality of the New Films theatricals with Maryann’s deep relationships and keen understanding of this market, perfectly positions Lionsgate-TISA in the region.”

Pasante, the senior VP of sales at Lionsgate-TISA Television International, added, “I have known Nesim and worked with New Films since my days at MGM. It is an exciting proposition to once again be teamed as we look to start offering these award-winning, current box office theatricals, not just more telenovelas, to the Latin American broadcasters.”

Nesim Hason, the president of New Films International, commented, “I concur with Peter, Maryann is one of the most knowledgeable and successful television executives when it comes to Latin America. Based on our previous relationship with her, we very much look forward to working with her and Lionsgate-TISA.”
