LONDON: DRG has expanded Scott Kirkpatrick’s role to include business development throughout Latin America, elevating him to the post of senior VP of North and South America.

Having held the position of senior VP of North America for the past year, Kirkpatrick will now be charged with growing DRG’s established distribution business across South America, as well as overseeing format sales in Canada and Latin America. In his expanded role, Kirkpatrick will build on DRG’s presence in Latin America. He will also handle the increasing number of titles the company has sold in the region. Kirkpatrick will continue to work alongside L.A.-based consultant Cristin Leyser, who manages the development of scripted formats in the U.S.

Richard Halliwell, the managing director of DRG, said, “Over the past year Scott has proven his ability by being an influential factor in DRG’s substantial growth in our North American footprint, and the time is right now to expand into Latin America under his guidance. Scott’s proven experience in devising and implementing international distribution strategies makes him the ideal leader to further expand DRG’s global presence in a rapidly growing market.”

Kirkpatrick added, “Latin America is a key focus for the business as we look to increase our activity in the market, and I am thrilled to be leading DRG’s development in the region. Over the last few years, the Latin American TV market has grown considerably, and we’re seeing a demand for high-quality, compelling programming, particularly in the entertainment genre. DRG is perfectly poised to meet the demand with our range of acclaimed and diverse content.”
