Cisneros Media Distribution Ties Up with the Barreto Family

LOS ANGELES: Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD) has entered into an exclusive worldwide representation deal with the Barretos, regarded as the “first family of cinema” in Brazil.

Since founding their production company in 1961, LC Barreto has produced and co-produced more than 80 short and feature films. During the past 50 years, Barreto family productions have been featured in international film festivals around the world and have received numerous awards and recognitions.

One of the key titles in the Barreto catalogue is Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands (1976). Other titles include the biographical film based on the early life of former Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Lula, the Son of Brazil (2009), as well the romantic comedy Bossa Nova (2000) and the political drama Memoirs of Prison (1984).
