MAINZ: Discovery Kids Latin America has acquired the animated series Scream Street from ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE).

Discovery Kids Latin America snapped up the LatAm pay-TV and SVOD rights for the series, which follows the adventures of teenage werewolf Luke Watson. The 52×11-minute series is based on the children’s books of the same name by award-winning British author Tommy Donbavand. The show will broadcast on Discovery Kids throughout Latin America in Spanish and Portuguese and will also be available on demand starting this month.

Scream Street is filmed in stop-motion animation. The series is produced by Coolabi.

“Discovery Kids viewers will have one more reason to celebrate Halloween this year with the launch of this new and exciting TV series based on the popular collection of comedy horror novels for children,” said Flavio Medeiros, the director of programming and acquisitions for Discovery Kids Latin America. “This scarily funny show is different from anything we have had on the network before, and we are sure it will be equally enjoyed by young and adult audiences.”

Fred Burcksen, ZDF Enterprises’ executive VP and COO, commented, “We are thrilled to see this fantastic production go to the Discovery network, with which we have partnered in so many areas for such a long time.”
