GLENDALE: ZAG has teamed up with Action Lab Entertainment (ALE) to develop comic books and graphic novels for North America based on the hit 3D CGI show Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.

The first introduction of Action Lab’s ZAG Heroez—Miraculous comic book series is slated to hit retail on July 21 in conjunction with San Diego Comic Con. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir currently airs on Nickelodeon in the U.S. and Disney Channel throughout EMEA. The action/adventure comedy tells the story of a teenage girl who serves as a crime-fighting superhero named Ladybug alongside her partner, Cat Noir. It is produced by ZAG in association with Method Animation, Toei Animation and SAMG.

“Action Lab Entertainment has demonstrated a commitment toward great quality comic books designed specifically for kids and around the empowerment theme,” said ZAG CEO Jeremy Zag. “Based on this and ALE’s pure passion for Miraculous, we are thrilled to be expanding our storytelling via this natural extension into comic books.”

Bryan Seaton, CEO and publisher of Action Lab, added: “We are delighted to partner with the Miraculous team at ZAG. Their skills of developing superior quality animation with engaging stories that girls and boys can both identify with globally is unparalleled. Kids and young adult fans already love Miraculous and can relive the fun, action-packed stories through ALE’s comics and graphic novels. Retailers are already clamoring for the release.”
