GLENDALE: ZAG, Method and Planeta Junior are teaming for the development of five animated TV shows under the Zag Heroez label, which now includes Miraculous—Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Zak Storm and Pixigirl.

The partnership begins with Power Players, about a team of secret heroes formed by a boy and his toys, and Pixigirl, centered on a super-heroine who uses Mother Nature’s powers to battle evil witches. Planeta Junior will oversee the licensing program of the Zag Heroez properties, including Zak Storm, in all of its territories. The company has extended its consumer products collaboration with ZAG in Southern, Central and Eastern Europe.

Jeremy Zag, the CEO of ZAG, said: “Thanks to recent enhancements to our Zag Heroez label, we’re now able to make childhood dreams come true by creating a brand-new universe full of fantastic modern-day superheroes for today’s generation of kids to grow up with…and to dream about. This strong partnership with Planeta Junior will help us promote this ambition for children around the globe.”

“We are very honored and proud to announce this new partnership with Planeta Junior, and are fortunate to be joining forces as we enter our next chapter with the Zag Heroez label, focused on delivering a powerful slate of kids’ entertainment franchises,” noted Aton Soumache, the CEO of Method Animation. “Jeremy and I are excited to extend our momentum through this partnership with Planeta, which brings the highest level of expertise to the TV distribution process and brand management in Southern Europe. Planeta Junior is the best home in these territories to expand licensing and merchandising, and promote our brands, following the first success we accomplished with Miraculous.”

Ignacio Segura, the general manager of Planeta Junior, added: “We are very excited to join this long-term partnership with Jeremy and Aton as the Zag Heroez label is one of the most powerful slates for children’s programming in the animation market. We share with ZAG and Method Animation the enthusiasm for contemporary, multiplatform content for today’s modern kid. We are proud to bring this amazing universe to children all over the world.”
