Home-Entertainment Partner for Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam

LONDON: Abbey Home Media has secured the home-entertainment licenses in the U.K. for Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam through a deal with DHX Media.

Under the agreement, Abbey will release four DVD titles this year, including the two hour-long specials Bob the Builder: Mega Machines—The Movie and Fireman Sam: Alien Alert—The Movie. In addition, two episodic releases, Bob the Builder: Dig This and Fireman Sam: Sam’s Birthday, will be the first titles to launch under the new DVD partnership. They will hit retail in April.

The Fireman Sam movie will be released in the 30th anniversary year of the property. The hour-long Bob the Builder special will introduce three new “mega” characters to Bob’s gang.
