CBC/Radio-Canada has acquired the first two seasons of Guru Studio’s Netflix original preschool series True and the Rainbow Kingdom.

The first episodes launched earlier this week on ICI Radio-Canada Télé in Quebec and are set to premiere on Saturday, March 24, on CBC. True and the Rainbow Kingdom rolled out outside of Canada on Netflix this summer.

“CBC/Radio-Canada is the perfect home for True and the Rainbow Kingdom here in Canada,” said Mary Bredin, the executive VP of content and strategy at Guru Studio. “We are very excited to be working with the public broadcaster’s incredibly talented team to bring True’s message of positivity and joy to children across the country, both in English and in French.”

“We are so thrilled to have this outstanding series launch on CBC and ICI Radio-Canada Télé,” said Marie McCann, the senior director of CBC Kids. “This celebrated show introduces children to positive qualities such as empathy and mindfulness and demonstrates how they can empower children in such a colorful and playful way.”
