LONDON/TORONTO: Tricon Kids & Family has partnered with Lupus Films to develop the animated comedy My Big Red Head, a potential co-production with Disney XD EMEA.

Geared toward viewers between the ages of 8 and 12, My Big Red Head centers on the Mayhem children, who are half-human, half-monster. The 52×11-minute series is being penned and developed by BAFTA winners James Lamont and Jon Foster (The Amazing World of Gumball). It is being executive produced by Andrea Gorfolova and Frank Saperstein for Tricon, with Camilla Deakin and Ruth Fielding producing for Lupus Films. Tricon International will handle the property’s global distribution and rights management.

Ruth Fielding, co-founder of Lupus Films, commented: “We are extremely excited about My Big Red Head. James Lamont and Jon Foster are a brilliantly talented comedic writing team and they’ve created a wonderful world and cast of characters who demonstrate just how hard it can be growing up in modern America when your family isn’t quite the norm!”

Frank Saperstein, the executive VP of Tricon Kids & Family, added: “My Big Red Head is instantly relatable to anyone with a family or who is trying to fit in while still being true to themselves. We are fortunate to have attracted some of the industry’s top creative talent to the project and look forward to our partnership with Lupus Films and continuing collaboration with Disney Channels EMEA.”
