SINGAPORE: Mediacorp’s bilingual OTT service Toggle is bringing the Mandarin-language children’s edutainment network Miao Mi to Singapore.

Miao Mi, Toggle Kids’ first Mandarin channel, is aimed at viewers between the ages of 3 and 6. The network features a variety of animated and live-action series and family movies, as well as its own show, Miao Mi Classroom, which is hosted by the channel mascot and uses animated flash cards and songs to help little ones learn Mandarin.

Miao Mi, which comes from Celestial Tiger Entertainment, joins premium content already on Toggle Kids from Disney, Nickelodeon and Da Vinci. The network will be added to the existing Toggle Prime package at no extra cost.

Anil Nihalani, the head of connected media at Mediacorp, commented: “With the launch of Miao Mi, we aim to make the learning journey fun and enjoyable. Besides great content, ease of access is also important, especially for busy parents. Toggle is available on a myriad of devices ranging from smart TVs to smartphones, tablets and more. This makes it convenient for kids to learn at home and on-the-go. In addition, Toggle is also equipped with a Parental Lock function, which allows parents to manage and restrict other types of content that their children can view.”

Ofanny Choi, the executive VP of TV networks at Celestial Tiger Entertainment, added: “We are very excited to launch Miao Mi in Singapore with Toggle. Given the growing importance of Mandarin, and the desire of most parents to have their kids exposed to multiple languages, we believe Miao Mi offers great value for Singaporean families. With the combination of our carefully curated, entertaining and educational programs, along with Toggle’s user-friendly multiscreen accessibility, we believe Miao Mi will help kids in Singapore learn Mandarin in a fun and interactive way.”
