LONDON: Cartoon Network is introducing in the U.K. a toy line inspired by The Powerpuff Girls reboot.

The range from global toy partner Spin Master features the Storymaker playset and plush, among other products, which hit Argos shelves in the U.K. this weekend. Additionally, The Entertainer will launch the line in stores and online on January 26. The Entertainer is supporting the rollout with a marketing campaign that includes The Powerpuff Girls Super Saturdays initiative, which will see stores filled with branded activities, exclusive discounts and competitions for four consecutive weeks.

Following the debut of the toy range, a lineup of fashion, accessories, gifting, homewares, personal care, FMCG and back-to-school products will begin to roll out from spring 2017. The Powerpuff Girls debuted across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in April.

Johanne Broadfield, the VP of Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA, commented, “I think it’s fair to say that The Powerpuff Girls is well and truly back in action! Performance figures demonstrate that the show is striking a chord with girls (and mums) across the U.K. and we’re seeing interest in the brand surge thanks to the increased exposure that the recent free-to-air broadcast launch has generated. With retailers proactively backing the brand, it’s looking promising that we’re going to make big waves in the girls’ market and successfully extend the power of PPG off-screen.”
