Gutsy Animations’ Moominvalley has been recommissioned for a fourth season by Sky in the U.K. and Yle in Finland.

Gutsy Animations, which is behind the Moominvalley 3D animated series, has secured a €5 million ($5.95 million) investment from Rovio Entertainment, creator of the Angry Birds franchise.

Gutsy Animations has tapped WildBrain to develop a global YouTube strategy for Moominvalley, the brand-new animated adaptation of the classic Moomin books. 

The head of kids’ content at Sky and the CEO and creative director at Gutsy Animations who is an executive producer on Moominvalley talk about giving new life to the beloved IP.

Moominvalley, an adaptation of the book-based property created by Tove Jansson, is due to debut as a Sky original series on Sky One, NOW TV, the Sky Kids app and on demand in the U.K. and Ireland late next year.
