Portfolio Notches Up Sales for Bubu and the Little Owls & More

Portfolio Entertainment has secured a slew of deals for new third-party titles, including the preschool series Bubu and the Little Owls, and several of its own properties.

Ireland’s TG4 picked up the second season of The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That and the new Cat in the Hat movies. TG4 also went for season one of Bubu and the Little Owls, which will air as part of the network’s Cúla4 na nóg block.

The animated comedy Freaktown went to 1HDTV through Studio U7 in Russia, as well as to Israel’s Channel 8. The third season of The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That and the three most recent seasons of PBS Kids’ Cyberchase are headed to Israel’s HOP!

Through Spain’s BR360 and South Korea’s CJ E&M, RTP (Portugal) picked up the rights to Cat in the Hat season three, with South Korea adding the first two seasons of Do You Know? In the SVOD space, the first season of Do You Know? will now be available on Pureflix (the U.S.).

Rounding out Portfolio’s latest sales, UR (Sweden) acquired the rights to the first season of the preschool series DOKI, produced and distributed by Portfolio for Discovery Kids Latin America. KiKA in Germany signed on for three DOKI specials, as well as the second season of Cat in the Hat.
