PARIS: Pierre Belaïsch, Gaumont’s Paris-based president of animation, is exiting the company.

Earlier this year, Gaumont announced its plans to expand the company’s animation division into the U.S. and bolster its animated feature-films and TV series activities. At this time, it was revealed that Belaïsch would be reporting directly to former Splash Entertainment exec Nicolas Atlan, who was appointed as Gaumont’s Los Angeles-based president of animation, and that he would be focusing on European television shows.

Belaïsch previously served as managing director of Gaumont Animation, which was rebranded from Alphanim back in 2013. Gaumont’s animated catalog includes such series as CalimeroFurry Wheels, Belle and Sebastian and Welcome to Bric-a-Broc, to name a few.
