MADRID: Nottingham Forest has picked up the licensing, merchandising and promotion rights for the animated series Sammy & Co from STUDIOCANAL, the property’s master agent.

Sammy & Co is based on the feature films A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures and Sammy 2. The ZagToon production, meant for kids between the ages of 4 and 8, follows the adventures of two young turtles and their friends. The 52×13-minute show has already been licensed in a number of territories around the globe. It has been airing on Canal Panda in Portugal since February 2015 and is set to premiere on Clan in Spain in May 2016.

Valerie Rolandez-Barrios, the VP of IP licensing and partnership at STUDIOCANAL, said: “Ricky and Ella are getting more and more friends all over the world. We are delighted of this new adventure for Sammy & Co through this new partnership with Nottingham Forest.”

David Pérez Andrés, the CEO of Nottingham Forest, added: “Sammy & Co is a fantastic adventure series under the sea, with unforgettable characters and aimed to a high preschool target. We are confident that thanks to Clan, which begins airing in May, many Spanish children will be more interested in what happens in the oceans and their amazing inhabitants.”
