EDMONTON: Squeaks & Cheeks, a new stop-motion children’s show from Rebecca Campbell Productions, is going live on YouTube this month.

All six episodes of the miniseries made in partnership with TELUS Optik Local are now available for free on-demand on TELUS Optik TV, with a focus on YouTube. The series follows two little pigs and their working dad, who is employed at Pancake Parlour. The young pigs learn life lessons as they have adventures.

The sixth episode is a behind-the-scenes look at the show. It teaches kids how to use their imaginations to do things like make pancakes out of styrofoam.

Filmmaker Rebecca Campbell commented: “It seems like 99 percent of kids’ shows these days are CGI animation. I wanted to make something that I would have watched growing up, something different than what kids see on TV today.

“To me, it was important to ensure that the show teaches lessons and morals in a very silly environment that captures a child’s imagination.”

On bringing the show to YouTube, Campbell said: “If you were to ask my little niece what ‘TV’ is, she’d run to get her tablet.”
