TOKYO: A number of new licensing and merchandising deals have been secured for Toei Animation’s Dragon Ball franchise, including with Viz Media Europe, which is bringing branded stationery items to France.

Viz Media Europe has signed on as the Dragon Ball Super licensee for 2016-17 school diaries and 2017 annual calendars in France and French-speaking Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg. The stationery products will be sold under the Kaze brand, available at book stores, cultural stores and mass retailers.

Overlook Events has unveiled details for Dragon Ball Symphonic Adventure, a concert event featuring music from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. The European debut will be held on May 6, 2017 at Le Grand Rex in Paris, where a 60-member orchestra will perform with soloists and singers, synchronized video and lighting.

Toei Animation Europe has selected Those Licensing People to represent Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z merchandise in the U.K. and Eire. Under the agreement, Those Licensing People will develop the classic brands into high-end market apparel, footwear, watches and jewelry.

Undiz, an underwear store chain, is working on a variety of Dragon Ball Z-themed boxers and pajamas for men. The collection becomes available this summer at the retailer’s 120 locations in France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Poland, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrein and Saudi Arabia.
