NASHVILLE: The animation outfit Magnetic Dreams has taken to Kickstarter to secure the financing for Planet Blue, a new series that encourages children to protect the environment.

The firm is prepping 12 episodes for season one covering a range of issues being faced by rainforests and oceans and promoting issues around sustainability. The stars and narrators of the animated show are Planet Blue and Sunny Sun, who educate four young children in each episode about environmental problems and work with them to come up with solutions.

“The Planet Blue series is not about placing blame, but about making proactive choices now and into the future,” says Victoria Lauren, the show’s creator. “The show’s focus is on solving environmental problems by making positive changes while creating productive and respectful dialogue with others. Children who watch it will become more aware and develop skills that empower them to make a difference. We firmly believe that this compassion-oriented approach is the key to instilling not only Planet Blue‘s educational values, but the further-reaching values that will enable our children to lead the way into tomorrow,” explains the series creator.
