GLENDALE: Seasoned producer Mireille Soria, who has been serving as co-president of DreamWorks Animation (DWA) alongside Bonnie Arnold, is stepping down from her role at the company.

Soria’s resignation comes on the heels of NBCUniversal acquiring DWA, which has been folded into the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, in a $3.8 billion transaction that was finalized over the summer. As co-president, she worked under Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures. She is credited with being the lead producer on DWA’s hit Madagascar franchise.

Soria and Arnold were appointed as DWA’s co-presidents of feature animation in January 2015 following the departure of Bill Damaschke as chief creative officer. In that role, they were charged with overseeing the creative development and production for the studio’s theatrical releases.
