Miraculous Ladybug L&M Expands Across Europe

BARCELONA: Planeta Junior has revealed that licensing programs for Miraculous Ladybug, an animated series from ZAG, Method Animation, Toei Animation and SAMG, are expanding in a number of European territories.

In Spain, Bandai’s Miraculous Ladybug toys sold out during the holiday season and all licensing categories are now covered. Noteworthy agreements include Panini for stickers and an official magazine; Air-Val for a perfume line; Planeta for books; Educa Borrás for board games; Safta for back-to-school items; and Cife for arts-and-crafts products. In Portugal, K-Stationery signed on for back-to-school and 2020 Editora will publish books about the show.

The Italian market is gearing up for deals that include Clementoni with puzzles, Nice with make-up toys and Franco Cosimo Panini with back-to-school. Gabbiano is on board for accessories and Walcor is doing chocolate Easter eggs. In Greece, Diakakis is working on a collection of gifts, accessories and secondary toys, while Chocotime is producing chocolate and confectionary merchandise. In addition, Gim-Giovas is the official partner for back-to-school and gifts for Greece, Malta and the Balkans, and Stamatis Ioannidis is developing apparel and accessories for Greece and Central and Eastern Europe.

Also in CEE, licensing programs include Trefl for puzzles, Stamatis and Setino for apparel, and Halantex for home textiles. In Poland, Beniamin is the official partner for back-to-school with Edipresse creating books, while Albatros will publish books in the Czech Republic and Total Office is launching back-to-school items and stationery in Romania. Over in Turkey, Umit Canta is producing bags and Keskin Color is developing notebooks. Posta is the newspaper promo partner, Zorlu signed on for home textiles and Gizzy Gorup recently launched puzzles. Biber Organizasyon is also working on a mall event during the school holiday at the end of this month.

Miraculous Ladybug has aired on Disney Channel in all of these territories and will debut on Super! in Italy in March. The series has also been broadcasting on Televisió de Catalunya in Spain since September.
