Keshet International has snapped up the exclusive global distribution rights—excluding Germany, Belgium and Ireland—for the new animated co-pro Sir Mouse.

Following the friendship between a bossy rodent and a gentle beast, Sir Mouse aims to challenge gender stereotypes and encourages viewers to question the world. The 26×11-minute comedy is based on the Mouse and Dragon books by Dirk Neilandt and Marjolein Pottie.

Sir Mouse has been commissioned by ARD in Germany, KETNET in Belgium and RTÉ in Ireland. The show is being co-produced by Fabrique Fantastique (Belgium), Scopas Medien (Germany) and Salty Dog (Ireland). It is slated for delivery in 2019.

Nicola Andrews, senior sales and commercial director for kids at Keshet International, remarked: “Sir Mouse is an exceptional concept. Not only is it funny and engaging, it flies for a new narrative, where girls are knights and it’s the princes that need rescuing. It perfectly demonstrates Keshet International’s wider strategy to bring a rich variety of content to the worldwide children’s programming market. It is important for us to find new ways to tell gripping, fun and informative stories, and Sir Mouse jumped off the page as it does this so admirably.”
