JAKKS Pacific has tapped kids’ and family entertainment veteran Jared Wolfson, who rejoins the company as the senior VP of digital marketing and Studio JP, effective today.
In his newly created position, Wolfson will be charged with developing, launching, expanding and managing the digital footprint of JAKKS Pacific’s portfolio of properties. He will also be responsible for spearheading Studio JP.
Studio JP is a division dedicated to creating and developing original, multiplatform computer-generated animated content, in a joint venture with China’s Meisheng Cultural & Creative Corp.’s animation studio Rising Anime. Wolfson has been a leader in the kids’ and family entertainment industry for more than 15 years. He has developed, produced and distributed hundreds of hours of animated entertainment content to partners such as Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Netflix. He has also overseen the marketing and distribution of multi-billion-dollar licensed consumer-products businesses with major studios, networks, IP owners and international partners, including Disney, Nickelodeon, Marvel and Sony.
“As we continue to grow our digital and entertainment footprint, we are excited to welcome back talented individuals like Jared,” said Jack McGrath, the chief operating officer of JAKKS. “Jared’s years of experience and success in children’s entertainment will help JAKKS challenge the competitive landscape and push its boundaries in both the digital and entertainment space.”
“Rejoining the JAKKS family is a great next step in my career,” stated Wolfson. “I look forward to working with the various segments of business in driving product awareness and purchase conversion, while also developing, launching and marketing original integrated kids’ and family entertainment franchise initiatives.”
