SINGAPORE: Following the success of the short-form version, One Animation has closed broadcast deals for the long-form edition of its family series Oddbods.

The new 60×7-minute episodes of the sketch-based series Oddbods will air on Boomerang across EMEA and Latin America. It will also be available on Disney Channel in Asia, as well as on CANAL+’s children’s channels CANAL+ Family and TELETOON+ in France and Africa. ITV in the U.K. and Boing in Italy also picked up the series.

Sashim Parmanand, the CEO of One Animation, commented, “The Oddbods brand is going from strength to strength. The characters really seem to have taken on a life of their own.

“With our broadcast partners on board to screen the longer versions of the show we hope to pull in even larger viewing figures. ITV in the U.K., for example, announced at BLE that Oddbods would be its flagship show for its dedicated kids’ channel, CITV, from this month. And we continually receive reports of excellent ratings across the regions where it is shown.”

Parmanand continued: “The show’s appeal is universal and easily adaptable across a variety of formats, a strategy that is at the heart of our business development plan over the medium to longer term.”

Oddbods currently airs worldwide in 224×1-minute and 46×5-minute versions. It has garnered more than 45 million views to date on its dedicated YouTube channel.
