Federation Kids & Family and Cottonwood Media have inked a multiyear deal with Planeta Junior for the development, distribution and licensing of kids’ and family programming worldwide.

The companies will combine their resources to find, produce and sell children’s content globally on all platforms. Cottonwood and Planeta Junior will develop and produce new programming, while distribution and ancillary rights will be jointly managed by Federation Kids & Family and Planeta Junior. The partnership begins with the animated series Squish.

David Michel, the managing director of Federation Kids & Family and president of Cottonwood Media, commented: “Planeta Junior’s far-ranging expertise in licensing, sales and channel partnerships is a perfect complement to our creative and distribution strengths. To succeed in the industry today, it is essential not only to create high-quality programs, but ensure their strategic placement in a constantly evolving TV and licensing market; our partnership with Planeta Junior will make way for this success.”

Ignacio Segura, the managing director of Planeta Junior, added: “We are very excited about the new partnership with Federation Kids and Cottonwood Media, as these two major French production and distribution companies are creating some of the highest quality content for kids all over the world.
