LONDON: Entertainment One (eOne) has secured broadcast deals with Cartoon Network in France and Belgium and OUFtivi in Belgium for the new animated comedy series Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong.

Cartoon Network France and Belgium and public broadcaster OUFtivi in Belgium acquired broadcast rights to the first season of the TV show, which will begin airing on Cartoon Network in France and Belgium from February 2017 and on OUFtivi from June 2017.

An official Canada-Australia treaty co-production, Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong is a high-energy comedy cartoon series for 6- to 12-year-olds developed by eOne and Australia’s Sticky Pictures and produced in association with broadcasters TELETOON Canada and ABC3 Australia. The 52×11-minute series follows the adventures of thrill-seeking space kid Winston Steinburger and his feline best friend, Sir Dudley. Winston and Sir Dudley explore the galaxy with an uptight alien in a homemade space cruiser.

Season one of the series was recently sold to Clan TVE in Spain and BIGGS in Portugal. Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong has also begun rolling out across several territories, including Australia in September 2016 and the U.K. in October 2016. The show will premiere in the Middle East and North Africa this September through a deal with MBC Group.

Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong premiered in Canada on Corus’ TELETOON on January 2, where the show now airs twice daily at 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on weekend mornings at 7:30 a.m. A gaming app based on the series also recently launched in Canada.

Monica Candiani, the head of international sales at eOne Family, commented, “We are extremely excited to introduce the hijinks of Winston and friends to kids and families in France and Belgium when the show launches next year. The growing list of countries now on board is testament to the show’s universal appeal of laughter and adventure.”
