MOSCOW: NBCUniversal’s DreamWorks has secured a multiyear agreement granting CTC Media exclusive Russian broadcast rights for several of the studio’s children’s series, including Dragons: Race to the Edge.

As part of the new deal, series inspired by DreamWorks Animation’s hit films will be available to CTC’s viewers. The deal covers shows such as Dragons: Riders of Berk, Dragons: Defenders of Berk, Turbo FAST, All Hail King Julien, The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Dawn of the Croods and The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show.

These titles join a roster of DreamWorks Animation’s full-length feature films, including Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon, Puss in Boots and others, for which CTC Media already secured broadcast rights.

Viacheslav Murugov, the chief executive of CTC Media, said, “Animation is at the core of children’s programming on CTC, which is the flagship channel of CTC Media. As well as in-house projects and domestic animation, we are keen to showcase outstanding animated work from outside Russia and DreamWorks Animation’s titles are amongst the most successful in this genre, thereby making it an excellent conceptual fit with the family audience of the CTC channel.”
