Disney XD Sets Debut of Star vs. The Forces of Evil TV Movie

Disney XD has slated the debut of the two-hour Star vs. The Forces of Evil TV movie for July 15, ahead of the fall premiere of the third season of the animated comedy-adventure series.

The TV movie is titled The Battle for Mewni and will premiere on Disney XD on Saturday, July 15, at 11 a.m. It will later air at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. that day and will also be available to verified users on the Disney XD app and Disney XD VOD platforms.

The movie follows Star as she returns to her home dimension of Mewni and discovers that magic is disappearing throughout the kingdom. Star must challenge her arch nemesis Ludo to save her family and kingdom.

The series is created and executive produced by Daron Nefcy. The voice cast features Eden Sher (The Middle), Adam McArthur (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Alan Tudyk (Broadway’s “Spamalot”), Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent), Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Artt Butler (Her) and Jenny Slate (Parks and Recreation). The show is a production of Disney Television Animation.
