Disney Orders More Big City Greens Ahead of Series Debut

Disney Channel has committed to a second installment of Big City Greens, a new animated comedy that is slated to premiere on the network next month.

Big City Greens centers on a mischievous country boy who moves to the city with his family. The show comes from comic book creators and brothers Chris and Shane Houghton (Harvey Beaks). It is due to debut on Monday, June 18, at 9:30 a.m. on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW and Disney Channel VOD.

The voice cast for Big City Greens includes Chris Houghton, Artemis Pebdani, Marieve Herington and Bob Joles, which such guests stars as Jon Hamm, Raven-Symoné and Busta Rhymes on board for the first season. The series is produced by Disney Television Animation.

Eric Coleman, the senior VP of original programming and general manager at Disney Television Animation, commented: “Drawing upon their personal experiences, Chris and Shane have created a ‘fish-out-of-water’ series that consistently delivers stories with big laughs and plenty of heart. We’re eager for viewers to get to know the tight-knit Green family and their endearing relationships that will be universally appealing to kids and families.”
