LONDON: CITV has ordered a second season of the kids’ adventure show Bear Grylls’ Survival School from Bear Grylls Ventures and ITV Studios’ Potato.

Bear Grylls’ Survival School looks on as ten British children between the ages of 12 and 15 abandon technology and follow the titular survival expert on a life-changing outdoor adventure. The 12×30-minute sophomore season is due to debut on CITV and ITV on January 7 at 8:30 a.m.

Grylls commented: “Young people thrive [on] adventure, and the wild can teach us so much: teamwork, resilience, courage and the value of persistence, kindness and friendship. This series exposes these young people to some of most awe-inspiring wilderness challenges that take them to the very edge—all the time battling bad weather, cold, fatigue and hunger. But those that endured found themselves the possessor of a confidence and pride that only the wild can provide.”

Michael Kelpie, the managing director of Potato and executive producer, added: “Too often we underestimate the abilities of children. One of the many joys of making and watching this show is the constant realization that young people never cease to amaze and when you give them the opportunity to excel, they will show you the true meaning of excellence.”
