Chinese Execs Join Children’s Global Media Summit Lineup

Four leading executives from the Chinese tech, media and culture industries are slated to speak at this year’s Children’s Global Media Summit.

On board are Nong Yuan, executive film producer and former manager of Jackie Chan; Shaowei Chen, executive tech lead for NetDragon Websoft; Shurong Zhang, director of Beijing International Music Festival; and Xiaoqiu Zhong, founder and CEO of UYoung Media Group. The execs will respectively take part in panel sessions titled “The Teenage Years,” “If You’re Not Paying, You’re the Product,” “Is That Entertainment?” and “Ca$hing In on the Kids.”

UYoung Media Group’s Zhong said: “Great changes have taken place in China’s media and entertainment industry in the past five years. The upgrading of the Chinese people’s consumption and the rapid development of internet are transforming the media consumption habits of the Chinese audience as well as the industry. I look forward to sharing my experience and insight with partners all over the world.”

Children’s Global Media Summit 2017 will be held in Manchester from December 5 to 7. Curated by the BBC, the event aims to redesign the future of media for “Generation U.” This year’s edition will feature five themes: education, empowerment, entertainment, innovation and freedom.
