ATLANTA: Cartoon Network has revealed some of its highlights for the 2017-18 season, including six new series, seven returning shows and multiple original mobile and console games.

Among the new series are Apple & Onion, an animated comedy created by George Gendi (The Amazing World of Gumball). The story follows the adventures of naïve and lovable friends Apple and Onion as they explore the “big city of sophisticated food.”

Other new shows are Craig of the Creek, an adventure series from Steven Universe‘s Matt Burnett and Ben Levin that is set in a kid utopia of untamed wilderness; Summer Camp Island, an animated program based on the original Cartoon Network short from creator Julia Port (Adventure Time) about two friends at a magical summer camp; and OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, a previously announced video game-style show. There is also the new version of Ben 10, created and executive produced by Man of Action Entertainment, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, based on Sony’s feature film of the same name.

Returning to the channel are We Bare Bears (season three), The Powerpuff Girls reboot (season two), Mighty Magiswords (season two), Adventure Time (eight-part miniseries), Steven Universe, Teen Titans Go! (season four) and The Amazing World of Gumball.

Console games and app highlights include The Powerpuff Girls LEGO Dimensions, Steven Universe: Save the Light, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, Ben 10: Up to Speed, Glitch Fixers—The Powerpuff Girls and Surely You Quest.

“As kids’ viewing habits have evolved, Cartoon Network has always been there with them,” said Christina Miller, the president of Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang. “From their first experience with a kids’ network website and video app, to their first series VR game, and most recently, their first app to use ACR, we are keeping our sole focus on them as they inspire us to reimagine television.”

“Cartoon Network has cracked the code on how a leading media brand can engage with fans through true total consumption,” added Donna Speciale, Turner’s president of ad sales. “Whether it’s VOD or gaming, or everything in between, plurals are connecting with this brand globally in ways most media brands haven’t yet experienced. That presents an incredibly powerful opportunity for our advertising partners this Upfront.”
