Carmen Sandiego Animated Series Coming to Netflix


Carmen Sandiego, a new animated kids’ series, is headed to Netflix in 2019, with Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) voicing the super thief.

Netflix ordered 20 episodes of the show. The 22-minute episodes will offer an intimate look into Carmen’s past. Viewers will learn who in the world Carmen Sandiego is and why she became a super thief. The series will be produced by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, with animation by DHX Media.

Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) will voice Player, Carmen’s chief accomplice and friend. Duane Capizzi (The Batman) serves as co-executive producer and showrunner. CJ Kettler (The Tick) is executive producing. Caroline Fraser is the executive in charge of production. Visual design will be done by Kevin Dart (Mr. Peabody & Sherman) and Chromosphere.
