Amazon Takes Sinking Ship’s Annedroids Global

Sinking Ship Entertainment has inked a deal for Annedroids with Amazon, bringing the series into every territory across the globe.

The agreement with Amazon sees the SVOD service expand its rights for Annedroids to nine additional first-run territories, including Denmark, Switzerland, Israel, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Finland (seasons three and four), Italy and France. Amazon also secured a second run of Annedroids for Finland (seasons one and two), Belgium, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Brazil, Sweden and Norway.

“We are so proud of this show and all of its success around the world,” said Kate Sanagan, co-head of distribution at Sinking Ship Entertainment. “Annedroids is a great example of a girl-led series that has been successful on every level: critically acclaimed and a top seller.”

Annedroids has been nominated for 17 Emmys over the past few years. The series is produced in association with TVOKids, Radio-Canada and Knowledge Network in Canada; Amazon Prime in the U.S. and U.K.; SVT in Sweden; and KiKA in Germany.
