PARIS: Pernel Media has been commissioned by DTT channel RMC Découverte to produce the first adaptation of the automotive format Wheeler Dealers for the French market.

The production company will turn out ten hour-long episodes of the format. It is the seventh U.K. format Pernel Media has produced in France in the past five years. Previous adaptations include The Undateables (Mon Partenaire Particulier) for M6, Great British Menu (Le Meilleur Menu de France) for TF1 and Dinner Date (L’Amour au Menu) for Direct8.

“There is an appetite for a new wave of car entertainment programming in France and we think audiences will love Wheeler Dealers,” said Samuel Kissous, the president of Pernel Media.

Wheeler Dealers France was commissioned by RMC Découverte’s Guénaelle Troly and Rodolophe Guignard. It will be executive produced for Pernel Media by Samuel Kissous. Wheeler Dealers was originally produced for Discovery UK by indie producer Attaboy and has run for 12 seasons to date. The U.K. version has aired worldwide.
