Twofour Names Former BBC Exec Head of New Formats

LONDON: Twofour Group has tapped Ana De Moraes, previously the creative director for development central at the BBC, as the head of new formats.

In her new position, De Moraes will be responsible for growing Twofour’s factual-entertainment slate in the U.K. and internationally. She will join Twofour in February, reporting to Andrew Mackenzie, the chief creative officer of Twofour Group.

At the BBC, the executive was tasked with helping to boost cross-genre collaboration and creativity within the company. Prior to that, De Moraes served as director of development at Twenty Twenty, where she was responsible for shows such as the BAFTA Award-winning The Choir (BBC Two), the Emmy Award-winning The World’s Strictest Parents (BBC Three) and First Dates (Channel 4), which is currently being produced in the U.S. and several other territories.

Mackenzie stated: “Ana has always been a star of the development industry. She’s got an incredible track record and we’re delighted she’s joining Twofour.”

“There are very few indies with a range of output equal to Twofour’s, which goes from documentaries to full-blown entertainment,” added De Moraes. “And what is even more remarkable is the quality with which they deliver every single program they make. I am very excited about joining such a talented team.”
