LONDON: Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution (TCFTVD) has appointed Dorothy Crompton as VP of format licensing.

Crompton will oversee the scripted format business and advise TCFTVD’s international sales offices on their respective scripted format sales and strategy. She will also manage the finished local production assets to facilitate TCFTVD’s sales of local series to the international marketplace. She will report to Gina Brogi, the president of global distribution at Twentieth Century Fox.

Most recently, Crompton served as managing director of sales at o2c, where she was the lead principal for worldwide television program sales distribution and media consulting. She previously was a senior VP at Eyeworks International, where she launched Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition.

“Dorothy has a strong record of launching U.S. hit television series as localized formats around the world and has established long-standing relationships with many leading international production companies,” said Mark Kaner, the head of TCFTVD. “We’re happy to welcome her to our division and are excited to have her build upon our format licensing business worldwide.”

“Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution has an extensive library of leading television dramas, comedies and films that strongly lend themselves to formats because of their compelling stories and rich characters that resonate for so many audiences,” said Crompton. “I look forward to expanding on the localized productions for TCFTVD’s programming following recent successes such as India’s 24 seasons one and two.”
