Top Model Set for English-Language Version in India

Bulldog Media & Entertainment and Viacom18 are teaming up for Top Model India, the first English-language treatment of the hit modeling competition format.

Top Model India will feature some of the country’s most influential fashion icons as co-judges, including Lisa Haydon, Atul Kasbekar and Anaita Shroff Adajania. Shibani Dandekar is on board to mentor the 12 male and female contestants. The show is slated for broadcast on Colors Infinity.

America’s Top Model currently has 20 international adaptations in production. The show is made by 10 by 10 Entertainment in association with The Tyra Banks Company. It is distributed by CBS Television Distribution.

Ferzad Palia, the head of youth, music and English entertainment at Viacom18, stated: “Colors Infinity has always believed in experimenting and creating content that viewers would look forward to watching every day. Therefore, we spend most of our time in curating distinct concepts that will appeal to the youth. It’s a well-known fact that fashion has always been of great significance to the youth culture today and what better than bringing on board a renowned international franchise like Top Model with a team that are trendsetters in the world of fashion. We are positive that the audience will witness an exciting premiere season of Top Model India.”

Roxanne Pompa, the VP of international formats at CBS Studios International, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Bulldog and Colors Infinity to launch the first season of the English version of India’s Next Top Model. With the Hindi version of Top Model being so successful on MTV, producing this new English version is a natural extension of Top Model brand in India.”
