MUNICH: Tele München Group’s TM International has sold the rights for the reality formats Date the Chef and My Perfect Party in Europe.

Date the Chef is headed to RTL II in Germany, where a local version will debut soon. The format, which has also received strong interest from broadcasters in France and Scandinavia, looks on as five restaurant owners search for love.

Martin Gastinger, producer of Date the Chef and CEO of Austrian broadcaster ATV, stated: “Every year ATV develops up to ten new formats and markets them internationally very successfully via TMG’s world sales arm, TM International. Date the Chef originated through our many years of experience with matchmaking formats and from the very first announcement there was interest not only from Austrian audiences but international broadcasters as well.”

My Perfect Party sees five candidates compete in the categories of catering, best party people and fun factor. The format was picked up by Germany’s RTL II, where it is slated to premiere on May 30. TM International also licensed the format rights for My Perfect Party to Hervé Hubert for France.

Iris Mayerhofer, producer of My Perfect Party and CEO of Odeon Entertainment, added: “Format ideas that work on a daily basis are not easy to find. Therefore we are very happy that our brand-new daytime format was not only picked up by the German market but also internationally. My Perfect Party is a fun mix of entertainment and emotions—and the perfect program for all broadcasters who are looking for an invigorating idea for their daytime.”
