The Story Lab has signed on to distribute Safari GO!, a format created by Frédéric Joly of Lagardère Studios’ 909 Productions, in more than 20 territories around the globe.

Safari GO! is a family adventure game show that sees six families compete against each other in the South African savannah. The program premiered earlier this year on Lagardère Active’s Gulli in France. A second season, hosted by Carole Rousseau, is in the works.

The off-screen commercialization of Safari GO! will be handled by Lagardère Active’s TV division. The property’s first licensing deals for publishing, toys and games have already been secured.

Joly, the managing director of 909 Productions, commented: “Since the creation of the format, we fully believed in the potential of Safari GO! to go global. I am very proud that this French creation will get to travel the world thanks to Story Lab’s handling of distribution.”

Caroline Cochaux, the executive program director in Lagardère Active’s TV division, and president of Gulli, stated: “We are absolutely delighted that the Gulli brand, which has become a reference for children and families, will be accompanying Safari GO!—a show that, besides being greatly entertaining, aims to raise awareness among our young viewers and develop their environmental conscience.”

Julien Lefèvre, the managing director of The Story Lab, added: “I am thrilled about this first collaboration with 909 Productions. Safari GO! is a great French format that will draw [much] success internationally—of that I am sure.”
